Richard and Patricia Smith of Yakima celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary during a family reunion June 28. The event was hosted by their family.
Richard Smith and Patricia Schock were married June 30, 1948, at St. Paul Cathedral in Yakima. They have lived in the area 60 years.
Mr. Smith is a retired attorney. Mrs. Smith is a homemaker.
The couple has three children, Jill Vaughn of South Bend, Wash., Rick Smith of Naches and Rebecca Smith of Olympia. They also have six grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
Weible -- 60 Years
Albert and Betty Weible of Moxee will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a barbecue for family and friends July 12 at 930 Beane Road in Moxee. The event will be hosted by their children.
Albert Weible and Betty Kincaid were married July 19, 1948, in Yakima. They have lived in the area 68 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Weible are both retired.
The couple has nine children, 26 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Benoit -- 50 Years
Gale and Patricia Benoit of Yakima are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary Fourth of July weekend with a family dinner and gathering hosted by their family.
Gale Benoit and Patricia Gallagher were married July 4, 1958, at St. Paul Cathedral in Yakima. They have lived in the area the last 24 years.
Mr. Benoit is a retired major in the Marine Corps. He also owned a building component company. Mrs. Benoit is an office assistant at Holy Family Catholic Church.
The couple has six children, Daniel Benoit of Kent, Wash., Gregory Benoit of Spokane, Renee Garnaas of Missoula, Mont., Michael Benoit of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Richard Benoit and Annette Lersback, both of Snohomish, Wash. They also have 16 grandchildren.
Paulus -- 50 Years
Calvin and Donna Paulus of Yakima will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a cruise to Alaska in August. The event will be hosted by their children.
Calvin Paulus and Donna Beaudry were married July 5, 1958, at the Blessed Sacrament and Catholic Church in Grandview. They lived 20 years in Sunnyside and 18 years in Yakima.
Mr. Paulus retired from Snyder's Bakery. Mrs. Paulus retired from a clinic in Yakima.
The couple has five children, Charyle Ward of Elizabethtown, Ky., Ken Paulus of East Wenatchee, Carla Contabile of Spokane, Deanna Trevino of Valleyford, Wash., and Dan Paulus of Oakdale, Calif. They also have 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Engquist -- 60 Years
Frank and Arline Engquist of Yakima will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary July 14.
Frank Engquist and Arline Gess were married July 14, 1948, in Yakima. They are lifelong area residents.
Mr. and Mrs. Engquist are retired.
The couple has three children, Michael Engquist and Scott Engquist, both of Yakima, and Brian Engquist of Phoenix. They also have seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Teske -- 50 Years
Melvin and Florence Teske of Yakima are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today with a reception following services at Grace Lutheran Church in Yakima. A dinner will also be hosted at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, David and Keely Teske.
Melvin and Florence Teske were married July 6, 1958, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Mayville, Wis. They have lived in the area 37 years.
The Rev. Teske is a retired pastor of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mrs. Teske is a homemaker.
The couple has four children, Lisa Shewbert, Catherine Ball and David Teske, all of Yakima, and Mark Teske of Ellensburg. They also have 10 grandchildren.
Carey -- 45 Years
Gary and Patti Carey of Yakima celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary July 5.
Gary Carey and Patti Green were married July 5, 1963, at Westminster Church in Yakima. They have lived in the area 40 years.
Mr. Carey retired as director of purchasing from Tree Top Inc. Mrs. Carey is a homemaker.
The couple has two children, Doug Carey of Yakima and Darren Carey of Bothell, Wash.
Dupuis -- 40 Years
Jim and Linda Dupuis of Selah are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.
Jim Dupuis and Linda Desmarais were married July 6, 1968, in Moxee. They have lived in the area more than 50 years.
Mr. Dupuis retired from the Yakima Training Center as a civil service employee. Mrs. Dupuis is an auditor for the state of Washington.
The couple has two children, Danielle Laurvick of Selah and Jim Dupuis of Tempe, Ariz. They also have two grandchildren.
Hoerner -- 30 Years
Tom and Marcia Hoerner of Yakima celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.
Tom Hoerner and Marcia Warren were married July 3, 1978, in Yakima. They have lived in the area 53 years.
Mr. Hoerner is an auto technician at Firestone. Mrs. Hoerner is a cashier at the East Valley School District.
The couple has two children, Jason Hoerner and Tim Hoerner, both of Yakima.
